KELME 2018 AUSF Football Cup concludes

ijjnews.com, Nov. 11 -- The awarding ceremony of the KELME 2018 AUSF Asia Football Cup was held in Jinjiang City Stadium in the evening on November 10. Thailand's Bangkok Thonburi University and the College of Asian Scholars won men's and women's championship respectively. Xue Yanqing, chairman of the AUSF and secretary of the joint secretariat of National Student Sports of China's Ministry of Education, and officials of Quanzhou City and Jinjiang City, including Liu Wenru, Ji Xiangfeng, Zhang Wenxian, Huang Shaowei, Wang Haifei, and Lin Yue, attended the awarding ceremony.

In the evening, 17,650 spectators gathered in Jinjiang City Stadium to watch the ceremony and over 350 thousand people watched the live streaming online.

On behalf of AUSF, Xue Yanqing extended regards to the participated teams, which played hard to scale new heights. These teams fought with passion for honor, and spared no efforts to transcend themselves, showing the quality of a top football match for Asian college students and mirroring the sports spirit for higher, faster, and stronger performance; outside the football field, players participated in various cultural exchange programs to experience different cultures and grow friendship. With the hosting of this year's game, AUSF and Jinjiang organizing committee have accumulated rich experience. He believed that the event in 2020 will be more wonderful.

After 12 days of fierce competition, the event concluded. In the men's matches, the champion, runner-up, and third winner were Bangkok Thonburi University of Thailand, Myongji University of Korea and Beijing Institute of Technology of China, respectively; Wang Wei from Beijing Institute of Technology won the Best Goalkeeper Award, SUKKO from Myongji University of Korea won the Best Shooter Award, PATCHARAPOL INTANEE from Bangkok Thonburi University won the Best Player Award, and the National University of Singapore won the Fair Play Award. Among women's teams, the champion, runner-up, and third winner were the College of Asian Scholars from Thailand, Donghua University of China, and Beijing Normal University of China respectively; Lu Mengke from Donghua University won the Best Goalkeeper Award, Zhao Yingying from Beijing Normal University of China won the Best Shooter Award, MONGKOLDEE JIRAPORN from the College of Asian Scholars won the Best Player Award, and Donghua University won the Fair Play Award.
