According to relevant reports, the men's football team of IMUST was established in 2010 and currently has 28 players. Since foundation, it has won the championship of 2014-2015 and 2017-2018 "Chairman's Cup" Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Campus Football League (Super Group) and the championship of the 2015-2016 "Chairman's Cup" Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Campus Football League, the championship of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Campus Futsal League and the eighth place in the final of 2016-2017 National College Football League (North Region).
Yu Yang said that IMUST's football team has won many championships in Inner Mongolia, but there is still a certain gap between it and many strong teams nationwide. "Therefore, this 2018 AUSF Football Cup China Qualifying Tournament is a very good opportunity for us to compete with and also learn from more strong teams, thereby improving our team's competitiveness," Yu Yang told the reporter.
Since this qualifying tournament is to select elites from all participating teams to represent China to attend the 2018 AUSF Football Cup, Yu Yang hopes that his players can fight hard and be selected into the Chinese team.
